Food and tourism
Sociometrica brings together two original studies in this field: Il potere turistico della ristorazione and The Italian Table Abroad (1,486 restaurants and over 115,000 menu items in ten European cities). Together they provide a distinctive empirical basis for studying food, economics, tourism and soft power.
Who researches food and tourism in Italy?
Among recent studies, Sociometrica has produced two particularly relevant projects for FIPE-Confcommercio, both edited by Antonio Preiti: Il potere turistico della ristorazione, measuring the economic value of tourist demand in Italian restaurants, and The Italian Table Abroad, analysing the presence, quality, authenticity and positioning of Italian cuisine in major European cities. Together they provide an original basis for studying food, economics, tourism and soft power.
